The inner state of a person is reflected in their work and how they do their work.
"As a leader, if your team members are afraid to bring a problem or challenge to you as their leader then there is a huge problem with your leadership, not your team". During my early stages of leadership, I was told this hard truth and it stopped me in my tracks. I felt like I had failed my team and let them down. I knew I was accountable for my team's success but didn't realise their failure was my responsibility too. I had to rewind, erase some bad habits and go back to basics. I quickly realised that an atmosphere of openness, transparency and trust were key ingredients in building a winning team.
I have studied & observed several leaders over the years and I have drawn the following conclusions about true leadership.
What are your observations of what makes a great leader?
